Frozen Junctions (2010) by Lior Navok is a 13-minute trio for vibraphone, viola, and piano, composed during a sweltering Tel Aviv summer. Written in a cool, shaded apartment while distant city sounds filtered in, the piece captures a sense of suspended motion and contrasting atmospheres. Dedicated to Sarah Bob and Aaron Trant, the work explores the unique timbral interplay between percussion, strings, and piano, offering performers a vivid and innovative addition to contemporary chamber music repertoire.
