AT THE EDGE OF A SPIRAL
for piano four-hands
DUTATION: 10 minutes
INSTRUMENTATION: piano four-hands
YEAR COMPOSED: 2004
At the Edge of a Spiral (2004) by Lior Navok is a 10-minute work for piano four-hands built around recurring motives that intensify as the piece progresses. Inspired by the story of a young man who took his own life, the music reflects obsessive momentum, emotional pressure, and a sudden collapse into a fragile music-box passage, as if capturing the inner world at the edge of a personal spiral. Written for and dedicated to the Silver-Garburg Piano Duo, the piece offers a powerful and evocative addition to the modern piano four-hands repertoire.
