THREE WINGED MOVEMENTS
for flute and piano
DUTATION: 12 minutes
INSTRUMENTATION: flute and piano
YEAR COMPOSED: 2003
Three Winged Movements (2003) by Lior Navok is a 12-minute work for flute and piano inspired by the visual and environmental characteristics of three creatures: the Hawk, the Bat, and the Hummingbird. Rather than creating sonic portraits, the piece evokes their surrounding atmospheres—gliding openness, dark echoes, and rapid, fluttering motion. Across its three movements, the work offers flutists and pianists a vivid, imaginative addition to the contemporary flute and piano repertoire.
