DUTATION: 10 minutes

YEAR COMPOSED: 2002

Blurred Formations (2002) by Lior Navok is a 10-minute duet for classical guitar and concert accordion inspired by ever-changing visual formations such as ocean plants, sea anemones, and fish shoals. Through shifting clusters, blurred arpeggiations, and chromatic gestures, the piece translates these fluid images into sound. The contrasting timbres of guitar and accordion create both clarity and obscurity, offering performers a vivid and imaginative addition to the contemporary repertoire for guitar and accordion.
