Speak low! is based on four sketches, each represents a different aspect of the instrument. Double Bass is one of the richest instruments when it comes to special effects and open-minded players. Monks, explores the double bass as a percussive instrument as well as melodic. Bolero’s Shade, brings fragments of a typical Bolero dance in an humoristic manner. Ghosts, explores the possibilities of special harmonics. It also includes humming. Funky, is the most rhythmical movement of the four. It includes bartok pizz. and other accents similar to electric bass playing.
