Fantasy
for solo cello
| Duration: | 5 minutes | |
| Instrumentation: | Solo Cello |
Program notes:
Fantasy for Cello solo consists of two main movements. The first is free, meditative and somewhat ancient in its modal fragments. A short transition connects to the second movement, which is fast and virtuosic. In spite of the character and tempo difference, the two movements look at the cello as a small orchestra, with many colors, roles and textures. Thus the in Fantasy, the cello is both the soloist and the accompanist.
